RV Insurance and Your Pets
When you hit the open road in your RV, there are no companions like your dogs and cats to keep you company in your motorhome or camper. That’s why we want to make sure they’re protected while you’re out on your next adventure.
Recreational Vehicle Pet Coverage Q & A
Your RV insurance covers your dogs and cats in many important ways. With American Family Insurance, RV pet coverage is included in your base recreational vehicle insurance policy. It’s great coverage that’s included for no additional premium. We’ve put together a guide to help you understand how your pets can be protected with our base RV policy.
What pets are protected with RV insurance? Our limited pet insurance will cover only domestic cats and dogs if they’re involved in a covered loss.
Is there a limit to the number of pets that RV insurance will cover? Multiple qualifying pets are covered, but the insurance is capped at $1,000 per covered loss, for any and all pets that are impacted.
How does RV insurance protect my pets? It helps save you money by providing coverage for your domestic cats or dogs if they’re in your RV during an accident or involved in another covered loss. You may also want to consider getting pet insurance in case your pet has a medical emergency unrelated to your RV.
Does RV pet insurance cover my veterinary bills? Your pet is covered for veterinary care if an injury occurs in a covered comprehensive or collision loss, like an accident or rollover, theft, covered weather event or other covered loss.
What happens if my pet passes away as a result of an accident? If the unexpected should occur, your dog or cat is covered if injury or death occurs in a covered comprehensive or collision loss. You’ll be covered for burial, disposal and replacement — with a $1,000 cap on all expenses. Coverage extends up to 90 days after the accident or covered loss, as well.
